For professionals

Professional referrals & partnership working.

MendCoaching provides trauma-informed, recovery-informed coaching for men. This page is for professionals considering a referral or exploring partnership working.

Who MendCoaching supports

Working alongside the wider system.

MendCoaching works with men across recovery, trauma, relationship and identity challenges. We work alongside — not in place of — clinical, medical and statutory services.

  • GPs and primary care
  • Social prescribers
  • Live Well Kent
  • Shaw Trust
  • Counsellors and therapists
  • Charities and CICs
  • Support workers
  • Recovery organisations

Suitable for

Who coaching can help

  • Men ready to engage voluntarily with developmental work
  • Men in stable recovery looking for next-stage support
  • Men navigating identity, fatherhood, separation or transition
  • Men whose primary clinical needs are already being held by an appropriate service

Not suitable for

When another service is needed first

  • Acute mental health crisis or active suicidal ideation
  • Active addiction without recovery support in place
  • Ongoing investigations or court proceedings relating to abuse allegations
  • Need for clinical psychological treatment or psychiatry

Safeguarding & boundaries

A clear, professional framework.

MendCoaching operates within a published safeguarding policy and a clear scope of practice. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, medical treatment or crisis intervention. Where a client's needs exceed scope, we refer or work alongside an appropriate service.

Confidentiality is maintained except where there is risk of serious harm to self or others, or where required by law. Boundaries, contracting and review processes are explicit from the first call.

Practical support services

Beyond one-to-one coaching.

For men navigating separation, family court, statutory processes or structural life challenges, MendCoaching offers Practical Support Services alongside coaching — companionship through difficult processes that don't fit a clinical referral.
