Why do I push people away?
Pushing people away is often closeness that feels unsafe. The pattern is protective, not malicious.
If closeness once meant being hurt, controlled or unseen, your system may have learned that distance equals safety.
Naming the pattern is the first shift. Then we look at what it is trying to protect, and what would need to be true for connection to feel less threatening.
